On June 5th and 6th 2018 CrySys lab (The Laboratory of Cryptography and System Security of the Department of Networked Systems and Services at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics – BME) organized and hosted a training and a set of meetings for the representatives of University of Novi Sad (Faculty of Technical Sciences), University of Belgrade (School of Electrical Engineering), Subotica Tech – College of Applied Sciences (VTS) and Unicom Telecom Ltd (UT), Belgrade. The training was a part of the regular Information Security Services Education in Serbia (ISSES) project activities and was focused on two key topics: Advanced Network Security and Secure Code Development courses.
In the first part of the meeting CrySys staff demonstrated penetration testing lab that is used on CrySys IT Security Laboratory master course, and described the infrastructure used for it. After the demonstration, project partners discussed the set of common lab exercises and necessary hardware and software requirements for establishing such IT security laboratory in varying course environments which exist among project partners from Serbia. The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the Secure Software Development course. CrySys staff demonstrated the use of avatao system for teaching best practice in avoiding typical coding pitfalls and creating potential bugs. Representatives of avatao were present at this part of the meeting and described the way how teachers can create new cases and examples for the Secure Software Development course.
